Beautiful Landscape of Mt. Makiling

Hello everyone,

I want to share to you about my landscape photography taking Mt. Makiling in Calamba, Laguna.

This was taken last May 7, 2016

Mount Makiling, is a famous mountain in Laguna province on the island of Luzon, Philippines. This mountain was 1,090 m (3,580 ft). The named "Makiling" came from the guardian of the mountain Maria Makiling. The side of the Mt. Makiling is contained with hot springs particular in Los Baños and Pansol.

I was photographed last May 7, 2016 after my photo shoots in Canlubang. I had bonded with my models and friends in downtown Calamba. During my bonding with my friends, I do street and landscape photography in downtown Calamba when suddenly, I inspired by the God's creator which is Mt. Makiling. I use long range lens using 55-200mm at 55mm to see the beautiful nature. The bible says "HE can move the mountain". If you love the nature, you can be a landscape photographer.

Thank you again for sharing my experience and Thank you LORD for the safe trip to me.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!! :)

Higantes Festival

Angono is an Art Capital of the Philippines, which is the first class urban municipality in the province of Rizal. It also a hometown of the national artist in the Philippines and the home of the Higantes Festival.

Higantes Festival in Angono, Rizal

I went to Angono, Rizal last November 22, 2015 to coverage the event which is the Higantes Festival. It was started during the Spanish colonial times. It was lent to Kampong of Binangonan, Rizal. The Spanish haciendas ruled for that traditional way when the Angono tillers way of protesting their struggle is by making giant effigies of their landlords.

The body of the higante is made of bamboo, colorful cloth, its faces of paper mache. The three old higantes of Angono has a group of the family, which are the father, mother and child higante, they traditionally add color and fun during the fiesta celebration. In the late 80s, the late Angono artist Perdigon Vocalan brought the idea of the Higantes Festival by going out of the traditional family of giants and advocating having more higantes in the fiesta by coordinating with the barangays of Angono to come up with Higantes that will represent their barangays. In the present, the Higantes of Angono can be seen in fiesta celebrations around the Philippines and in national cultural presentations to promote their tradition.

The Higantes Festival was held every 22 to 23 of November. It has to honor of San Clemente when it comes to tradition by male devotees and the parehadoras devotees. This festival is colorful because of dressed in colorful local costumes, wooden shoes and carrying boat paddles and higantes, giant paper mache effigies. They have also a parade from the streets of Angono to the Laguna de Bay to celebrate their image on San Clemente.

During my coverage, this is my first time to cover that traditional event but it's too hot. Every parade has a colorful. This will be to promote their traditional to boost the tourism that's why the travel photography is the purpose. I can explore more people, new friends, learn more about their environmental. Anyway, thank you for viewing, sharing, reading my this article. I view post my second part in Angono which is the one of the most tourist destinations in town. Please like us on Facebook:  www.facebook.com/NoGiCoPhotography and follow us on twitter @NoGiCoPhoto
